This essay describes palliative care planning and clinical decision-making for the patient affected by the pattern of primary liver cancer. The factors contributing to the clinical decision-making of the affected patient described in the context of Levett-Jones clinical reasoning cycle (Levett-Jones, 2013). The patient affected with the pattern of primary liver cancer experiences the debilitating clinical manifestations requiring multidisciplinary evidence-based interventions for reducing their intensity during the course of therapeutic interventions. The clinical decision-making in such a scenario profoundly influences the patient outcomes and therefore, the execution of the clinical decision-making with the utilization of Levett-Jones evidence-based conventions elevates the probability of the effective enhancement of the quality of life and treatment outcomes of the liver cancer patient.

The elderly male patient was admitted to the inpatient ward with the clinical symptoms of abdominal swelling, discomfort in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen, mass beneath the right rib cage, nausea and vomiting. The patient diagnosed with the pattern of primary liver cancer with the utilization of diagnostic interventions attributing to LFT, MRI, CT, Serum Tumor Marker, liver biopsy and physical examination (NCI, 2016).
