Reflecting on my dietary diary, the score was assessed by answering the quiz honestly. Finally, the score, which I have attained, was 4-6, which requires plenty of room for improvement. This is only due to poor eating habit and not timely eating habits with the appropriate quantity of the right food. Moreover, the body mass index range was verified, which results in the underweight range (<17). The waist measurement performed as per the prescribed standards; it found to be weight-associated health threat is low. The strategies to meet the guidelines include but not limited to consuming different coloured vegetables as per the prescribed dietary pattern such as green (sweet potatoes), orange (pumpkin) and yellow and red (capsicum) (Ainslie, 2005). Lack of consumption of less number of coloured veggies might be the reason for the underweight range in BMI. Similarly, consumption of grain foods such as cereal might increase my daily needed calories for energy level. It recommended for me to take six standard serves per day of cereal food as per the Australian dietary standards. It is not recommended to consume takeaway food, which consists of artificial flavours, colours and sprays, which really make my eating habit poor and threats to my health. It is suggested to make own organic gardens where fresh fruits can be yielded and consumed rather than consuming the pre-preserved fruits obtained from supermarkets (Mozaffarian, 2011).
The identified social and economic determinants are access to health care systems, food security, health behaviours, early childhood development, literacy and education, social connectedness and support, income, housing and environment. Due to my limited income and other personal determinants such as lack of nutritious food and resources, overtime working conditions lead to negatively influence my dietary pattern set as per Australian dietary guideline. Due to the above personal and social determinants, I have various health consequences such as circulatory complications and high blood pressure. The overtime working condition, increased stress in work leads to disrupt my dietary and beverage pattern. In addition, other personal determinants such as overconsumption of alcohol during weekends, smoking and less healthy eating practice due to limited available resource in my society lead to an impact on the ability to meet the Australian dietary summary guidelines (Shepherd, 2010).
The orientation of my society also affects dietary requirement via the distribution of resources and public goods. Obviously, the degree to which these are symmetrically shared among the population has been demonstrated to affect my dietary pattern. Linkage to culture, social networking and social support can safeguard against my dietary pattern in a disadvantaged situation. In addition, my personal determinants, such as limited education, high blood pressure, influence my dietary pattern. Cultural determinant such as immigration from one country to other leads to various changes in my health. This includes but not limited to adoption towards new climate, water, availability of food resource, and geographical timings influence the ability to meet the Australian dietary summary guidelines. During migration within one continent to another continent result in reduced fat intakes, which might be a cause for my underweight range of BMI and incidence of high blood pressure (Turrell, 2012).
