As the largest transnational organisation of this world arrives into its 67th year of existence, it is crucial for the United Nations and all its affiliate organisations in the true vibe of remembrance of this accomplishment to lower the luxuries of daily routine- the uncertainty of the unexplored and accost itself with a question on if it was successful to follow the Charter that it declared for itself. 

As a country, if UNICEF were asked if the six and a half decade long role of arousing social change has taught to its spirit, it must admit contritely that it did have some effect, but there's clearly a lot more to be done. However, this acceptance should not be considered as a disregard to all that the achievements that UNICEF had through all the years of its functioning (Earle, 2009). With all the evaluation in place, there are a lot of factors responsible but the primary factor behind the disreputable condition of India is because of the low degree of participation of the emerging nations which is one of the most important sections of the community (Arnstein, 1969). This failure of the emerging nations in encouraging more participation of their agencies in UNICEF's policy-making process has much to do in putting UNICEF into a situation that it is in today (Banaji, 2011). 

With this quaint introduction to the origin of UNICEF as an organisation, it is now appropriate to delve into some more critical issues that have emerged around the functioning of this organisation. At this critical juncture when the organisation is going to the 70th year of its existence, it is an opportune moment to take stock of the functioning of the organisation. Therefore, in this assignment, the analysis begins with the gazing the impact of the organisation on the ground. It is being done with a view to analysing the effectiveness of UNICEF as an organisation while delivering its role and functioning towards the interest of the people. Then, this assignment looks at the participation of stakeholders in the functioning of the organisation to explore the notion of whether it has been truly participative as it was thought to be. In the next section, the assignment goes through the looking glass while analysing the public perception around UNICEF as an organisation in the sense that what is the perception of the organisation among the people. Thereafter, the assignment analyses the collaboration of the organisation with other affiliate organisations of the United Nations along with other non-governmental organisations. Finally, the assignment presents a critical perspective regarding the shortcomings and limitations of the organisation and also explore the question as to what the future holds for UNICEF.
